Star Wars Weekends 2010 Information

Today’s post is a VERY short one with some information regarding Star Wars Weekends 2010. This week Disney Parks Blog announced the official dates:

News just in concerning Star Wars Weekends 2010…we’ve confirmed dates for the annual event held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. Here are the weekends:

May 21 – 23

May 28 – 30

June 4 – 6

June 11 – 13

If you’ve never been, Star Wars Weekends is an annual event that celebrates the space-fantasy Star Wars Saga and the animated TV series The Clone Wars. There are special shows, presentations and memorabilia. We’re told Disney Park guests can expect a lot of surprises at this year’s event so check back for future updates.

Also this week, What’s HapPINing Blog posted some information regarding the pins of this years SWWs:

Every year, we have a collection of pins released for this event - some limited and some open edition. Today, we have a preview of three open edition items that Julie Young, Product Developer for open edition pins and accessories, has been working on for the past few months. These items will be released around the start of Star Wars™ Weekends and will also be sold at Disneyland® Resort (for all of the West Coast fans).

Up first is what we are calling the Star Wars™ Logo set. This will be an open edition item that features iconic logos from the Star Wars™ Universe. For the creation of this set, Julie was inspired by another popular icon set she developed in 2007 for Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End.

The pins pictured below will also be open edition. They were inspired by some big figs that were created for Star Wars™ Weekends 2009. The Donald Duck pin will feature a spinner element showing the front and back of Donald.

On a final note, earlier this week we showed you the Purchase with Purchase Pins to be released in Disneyland Resort on January 14th. When you purchase $30 or more (before taxes) you have the opportunity to purchase another pin for $1. If you missed it or you would like to see it again, check it out here.
