Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters is actually three ‘different’ rides, in Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland. Opening at various times after the popular attraction opened in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, under the Space Ranger Spin name, in 1998.
Replacing the Circle Vision 360 Theater, this first AstroBlaster attraction opened in Tokyo Disneyland six years after the original attraction in Magic Kingdom opened, on April 15, 2004, the park’s anniversary, like most of Tokyo’s major new attractions. This was the first incarnation of the attraction that featured detachable laser guns to score points with. This made it easier to get more points as you could pick it up and move around, along with the twirling vehicle.
The various pins were released around the opening of the attraction, to celebrate the new attraction.
The next incarnation of this attraction opened in Disneyland, for its 50th Anniversary, on March 17, 2005, replacing the most recent Rocket Rods queue area, and before that the Circle Vision 360 Theater. With the opening in 2005, a new online version of the attraction was ‘released’ which ‘helped’ the Disneyland visitors with special targets, and new ‘Easter eggs’.
Similar to most of the other pins in this segment, were released for the opening of this attraction.

This pin, released for the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland, was a Then and Now type set, with the Circle Vision 360 Theater (then), and (the recently opened, at the time) Buzz Lighyear Astro Blasters (now).
The final Disneyland pin celebrates the 5th Anniversary of the attraction, this past March (2010).
The final AstroBlaster attraction opened in Hong Kong Disneyland, with the park, on September 12, 2005. With the opening, it became the first Buzz attraction to be opened with the park, not years after it opened. Since opening within months of the Disneyland version, they were ‘co-designed’ and are very similar to each other.
Only one set of pins were for this attraction opening (with the park opening), just shows various characters from the attraction, but first is the official logo pin.
